SANE Practitioners Program to be terminated by incoming St. Tammany Coroner-Action Needed Now!

The NDNA, representing the registered nurses of Washington and St. Tammany Parishes,  is appalled at the atrocity of the Coroner’s plans to terminate the services of local SANE practitioners.  All CNOs and other nurse  leaders in attendance at our annual Leadership Luncheon on Friday  unanimously voiced opposition to this action and acknowledged the essential service of SANE. The group further affirmed support of efforts to stop this action, including recall of the Coroner. This clearly indicates the Coroner’s lack of understanding of the support needed at the time of rape exam, an insensitivity to the emotional trauma of this act and is another assault on women’s healthcare.
